There are many yoga practices that have been brought to the West and all serve their purpose. The goal is to align body, mind and spirit. Most practices in the West start with the body and breath leading to mind and spirit. However, there’s a yoga I’ve practiced for many years that begins with the mind and heart first and it is called Jnana Yoga. It involves inquiring into your true nature and dissolving of the ego. It has changed my life drastically. My life is less dictated by my mind and ego and more from my heart- which looks confusing to outsiders but such bliss arises from this new place of living. I feel without bringing a meditative practice into your daily life and practice, Yoga is just a physical exercise. We do yoga everyday when we bring silence and a quiet mind into our actions. It brings us to our greatness again, like the shirt says because in reality we never lost that greatness we just covered it up with unnecessary noise. By: Kayesha
