I started doing yoga once a week as a 'recovery' from CrossFit. A yoga instructor told me that I would really see improvements to my practice if I came 3 days a week. She was right. I started practicing yoga 3 times/week about 2 years ago. My upper body and core strength improved so much I started seeing breakthroughs as CrossFit. Working on balance at yoga has also been very important for me and will become increasingly important as I approach 60. Aside from the physical benefits of yoga (strength, mobility and balance), my time on the mat at taught me how to calm my mind and focus on the present. Practicing yoga is a gift that keeps on giving.
